Well, there are always plenty of older people there, so it may be a plan for when you're retired!! :D Although a lot of people bring their kids to signing events so you could always try that haha. (Usually dressed in tiny spiderman costumes!!)
They can be anything from awesome and uplifting to crowded and stressful. I'm not into the bigger signing events where there are thousands of people, but the smaller, show-specific cons are usually lovely - fun Q&As, photo shoots and autographs during the day, then parties at night.
It's a shame they're not cheaper though!! I only did one last year and it was only half an hour from our house so that kept the prices down, no hotel stay or anything, and we'll prob only do one again this year. If I win the lottery, maybe more :D
