100 Youtube Videos - No. 5 - Brenda, you're looking perfectly acceptable

If you're from the UK, you've almost certainly heard of David Mitchell, but you may not know that he has a whole series of Youtube videos, entitled David Mitchell's Soapbox, in which he rants (in a gentlemanly manner) about all those things that so annoy us. Or him. If you're not from the UK, then all you need to know is that David Mitchell is a well-loved comedian who participates in various panel-style quiz shows, does a little stand-up and is generally a sort of awesome, snarky, terribly British person.

I find I can while away many hours listening to, and generally nodding along with, David's rants on a variety of subjects. Sometimes I heartily disagree with his opinions, but I still appreciate his lovely way of...well, moaning. The video I am going to share with you today has been picked relatively randomly from among his rants (and is actually one that I don't particularly agree with, but very much enjoy listening to). I'll leave a few links for other suggested rants you may wish to look at, and I will also be saving up one of them to post another day, alongside a personalised Laura-style rant about GRAMMAR. But for now, please listen to David debating the complex matter of giving compliments.

Unfortunately, it's very late so I don't have the sound on...

However, I wanted to say how I'm not from the UK but I definitely know David Mitchell. BBCA has shown both That Mitchell and Webb Look and Peep Show.

That's nice to know he gets some TV play over in the states :) I'm not super keen on the stuff he's done with Robert Webb, I prefer his solo stuff, but I have watched a few eps of both shows.

I just hate the beard he has now, I don't know what possessed him! But yeah, he's good, I really love him on The 10 O'Clock show

Oh but it was so worth it to hear Lee Mack talking about shaving his beard so he David wouldn't think Lee was copying him. That was one of my favorite WILTY moments EVER!

Love DAVID! Love him on WILTY, on QI, on his rare Mock The Week appearances...I even with The Bubble had lasted longer, although the premise was really stupid. Strangely enough...in the sketch comedy shows with Robert Webb AND Peep Show...not so much. I like David better as David than as any Dave-based character.

I much prefer him as himself too...and oddly, I prefer him without Robert Webb in the vicinity at all, not that I have anything against Webb!
