Four more years!

Annnnd breathe.

That was one terrifying alternative and near-reality.

So happy and relieved for everyone in the States - and all over the world, really.

*hugs everyone*

thank goodness enough people turned out to vote and kept the Republicans out of the White House - here in the UK we're grateful ...

Canada is super excited about it too. We were giving side-eyes to our Southern neighbours leading up to this election...

Can I get a "woot woot"!!!

When I went to bed last night, the electoral votes map was looking far more red than blue, and I had a sick feeling in my stomach. What a relief to wake up to the good news! :D

It's great to know people in other countries are celebrating with us. Sometimes I have a feeling progressives all over the world are looking at the U.S., with its racism, homophobia and general religious asshatery, and wondering what the hell we're doing here in the "land of the free."

I've got no explanation either. But at least we're still on the right path towards changing things. :)

True--the U.S. doesn't have a monopoly on ignorance or bigotry--it's everywhere! And I am grateful that I don't live in a country where it's legal to be put to death for being gay, or girls can be attacked with acid for going to school or looking at a boy. That kind of puts not allowed to marry my partner of eight years in perspective.

But still...

i literally cried when i saw Obama had won.

i hadn't realized up until that moment, just how scared and worried i was!

Ladies, fellow gay people, people who are not rich and/or have medical problems... we have just avoided what may have been something similar to "The Handmaid's Tale".

Yay for Obama!

I'm a week late, but I've come to join the Obama happy-dancing. (And use one of my favorite Icons.)
