DATE! WE HAVE A DATE!
Nov. 10th, 2012 03:26 amIt's been brought to my attention by timewithers that there is a) a new promo out for White Collar season 4, and b) a date attached to it! No longer is it just 'January' - it's now 'January 22nd'!
View it! VIEW IT NOW.
I have a few thoughts about this trailer, and I'm going to tell them to you! But I'm putting them under a spoiler cut because I know some people don't like to watch the promos, and also...well, there might be some less-than-positive comments about Sam.
Also? I may have got overexcited and made a countdown clock to January 22nd, 9pm. 73 days or 1774 hours to go!

I have a few thoughts about this trailer, and I'm going to tell them to you! But I'm putting them under a spoiler cut because I know some people don't like to watch the promos, and also...well, there might be some less-than-positive comments about Sam.
- I love Neal and Sam/James (my brain is struggling to call him anything other than Sam) having dinner at the Burkes'. I know that clip was in the promo released at the start of the hiatus, but it's still worth mentioning again: SO CUTE! Obviously Neal should be dining at the Burkes' every day. I figure it's probably happening because Sam needs to explain his shady past to Peter, but I actually hope it's because Neal wants Peter present during all his interactions with Sam so as to comfort and protect him ♥
- Where is El? I really hope she's been invited to this revelatory dinner in her own house. I considered pausing the video to count the napkins, and then decided I might need some form of intervention.
- I'm enjoying the side-eye that Peter is giving Sam at the dinner table. I'm relying on Peter to remain aloof and suspicious in the face of what will almost certainly be Neal getting quickly over-invested in his shady 'dad'.
- Why is there so much Sam in this video?! Why is there a deep emotional Sam-hug with the cradling of Neal's head?! I want Peter to be cradling Neal's head. NOW, PLEASE, PETER.
- Also, I am worried that Neal's going to end up really hurt if he allows such head-cradling hugs to go on and then Sam ends up being evil after all. Or at least, if not evil, then not concerned for Neal's welfare above his own.
- I'm not looking forward to the flashbacks. I hope they're short and sparse and heavily interspersed with dinner-table scenes featuring Peter and Neal, because I don't really care about Sam/James or Ellen, and they're going to be the only characters we know in the flashbacks. Oh, unless we see tiny!Neal. That would be awesome.
- If we see tiny!Neal, we'll have screencaps TO ILLUSTRATE KID!FIC WITH! \o/
- Who is the villain played by? I recognise him, but I don't know where from.
- ...Neal and Peter look hot.
Also? I may have got overexcited and made a countdown clock to January 22nd, 9pm. 73 days or 1774 hours to go!

Date: 2012-11-10 03:37 am (UTC)After watching the trailer and everyone seeming fairly alright with each other (side from Titus there)...I know for a fact that it will all end in tears.

Date: 2012-11-10 03:45 am (UTC)Yes, I'm expecting some sort of epic upset to happen pretty soon. Stress! At least we might get some nice Peter-comforting-Neal moments!

Date: 2012-12-04 03:45 am (UTC)LOST was when I first saw Titus. He was mysterious and evil in a delightful kind of way and I immediately liked him. He was in possibly only one episode of Supernatural, but he was memorable (for me) in that. He's got a presence that I just really like. I know he was in a decent number of episodes of Good Wife. He seems like an intelligent guy, he's very well-spoken about the characters he plays and he's got a good sense of humor about fandom-related stuff, which I appreciate.
And he does an amazing Christopher Walken impersonation.:Dno subject
Date: 2012-11-10 08:02 am (UTC)We just started with season 2 in Germany a few weeks ago. Yesterday I saw the first episode with Sarah. I'm so behind! And I am missing El as well, please tell me she will be back soon? Where is she?
Mozzie is awesome though and makes up for it.
But aw, poor Neal!

Date: 2012-11-10 05:29 pm (UTC)Ooh what did you think of Sara?
Yeah El doesn't have masses to do in the first half of season 2 as far as I can remember. She has some cool parts in Burke's Seven and Power Play but they're about episodes 10 and 14/15 I think. I think she's still in most episodes though!
And yeah, Neeeal ♥

Date: 2012-11-10 07:28 pm (UTC)Ah, Sara without h, didn't know that. It always drove me crazy when people mispelled the name of the Stargate-Sara.
Well, I didn't mind her, but it was only one episode. I heard that there is a controversy among fans. I'll see how the story will go further. There always seems to be a pattern which I have witnessed quite a few times now. I myself was affected as a fan with "Stargate" and "Torchwood", and friends tell the same about "House" - seems that after a while or a few years, the producers suddenly change direction and stories, add new characteres and change it so much that fans don't anymore recognize the show they fell in love with. So they voice their opinion loudly but they seem not to care or listen. And it divides the fanbase in those that hate the new direction and those that love the new characteres, and I always am sad to see that fighting.
I look forward to watch WC each week on the TV, but I am not THAT much immersed into the fanbase. I don't read fanfictions, and I don't discuss it on message forums, I don't even have an icon. So maybe I'll be just "meh" about it? Not sure. (I have, however, in the past weeks added the new show "Arrow" to my fandoms, I am totally hooked with that at the moment! And I really didn't need a new fandom at all, since I am already busy with "Torchwood" and "Doctor Who" and "Sherlock")
But do you know why El is missing? Had the actress other stuff to do? Was she pregnant or anything? There must be a reason why she is only in short clips before a green screen. It's nice they don't completely forget about her, but it makes me missing the wonderful dialogues between her, Neal and Peter.

Date: 2012-11-10 10:54 pm (UTC)I think Sara's OK to be honest, I know a lot of people dislike her deeply, but I find her pretty inoffensive. And the show doesn't change direction too much (though season 3 is a little bit different, but nowhere near to the extent of Torchwood or House!) There's not too much of a division in the fandom as far as I can tell, because the people who don't like Sara tend to just not write about her, rather than writing bashy stuff, and the people who like her just like her quietly lol! There is some really awesome WC fic out there though if you ever feel like reading :)
Yeah, I think Tiffani Thiessen was pregnant during season 2 so it probably is due to that. And you can tell by the latter half of the season when she does start appearing more again, she still has a lot of the baby weight (though looks amazing as ever!!) The green screen stuff is baaaad though! It's all shimmery and distorted :-\ I wish they'd just put her in black and stood her behind counters and stuff to hide it instead lol!
Ah I have to watch Arrow! I haven't gotten around to it yet but it looks awesome, and of course, John! ♥

Date: 2012-11-10 11:16 pm (UTC)I thought the scenes with Sara and Neal were pretty funny! All this weapons waving around LOL
Oh, now you got me curious. I might check out some ffs. But what would they be about? I'm not so much interested in Slash - are people really writing real cases and cons like in the show? I think that might be pretty difficult. Same as I never could write a Sherlock-Story.
Yeah, I think the counter thing could have worked. As a fan you still would notice, but at least she would be IN the story instead of just being on the phone or something.
Oh you NEED to watch Arrow! Seriously. Start immediately. And start at the beginning, of course. It's awesome, and it keeps getting better from week to week. Totally roller-coaster. I didn't expect it, but they have me seriously hooked. Hooked like, I am re-watching and rewatching the episodes while waiting for new ones. That badly. It draws you in. There hasn't been too much John yet, but the rest is definitely not boring. I might even develop a little crush on Stephen Amell LOL And see, I have an Arrow icon - this is standing here in Dresden!

Date: 2012-11-14 05:06 am (UTC)Hehe yeah Sara and Neal can be quite cute :D
There's quite a variety of fanfic - there's loads of slash and kink obviously, but there are quite a fic 'case' or 'con' fics, and a few father-son or brotherly kind of fics, and also a LOT of fics where some sort of con or mission goes wrong and either Peter or Neal or both end up in a dangerous situation and have to be rescued by the other one or work their way out together! Or sometimes there's stories about Neal's past and things :)
Aww, Arrow icon! Awesome :D I will definitely be downloading it as soon as I can and catching up with it, I'm so impressed just from the trailer :D

Date: 2012-11-14 09:24 pm (UTC)It's funny that you always stumble about the same people online.
Just an explanation - it's not that I mind Slash in general, not at all, with other fandoms I like to read it just fine - I just somehow don't see it with those two. I like them to be just friends. Same reason as I don't like to read Jack/Gwen stories - as long as she is with Rhys, I just don't see it. Or don't want to see it.
But the ones with dangerous situations? Gimme! LOL I wouldnt's say no if you had a few recommendations?
Please let me know what you think about Arrow, I need more people to talk about it!

Date: 2012-11-10 10:03 am (UTC)Looks like they're really going with the Sam/James was set up and is really, honestly, totally innocent (instead of what fandom seems to prefer, that there's more going on with the guy). Hmm, I'll wait and see how this plays out.
I love Peter side-eyeing Sam/James. It's totally like "Neal's mine now, back off!" *hearts* And while I'd prefer big ol' hugging between Neal and Peter, I do love the one we do get to see for one reason: NEAL'S FACE! LOOK AT HIS FACE!!! *smishes him*
BTW, of course Sam/James is at the Burkes for dinner. I mean, Neal wants his lovers to meet the in-laws. *shifty*

Date: 2012-11-10 10:24 am (UTC)To illustrate, allow me to post a screencap showing everyone's wine glass (except Sam's) and El's napkin. El! :D \o/
As for the seating arrangement, Neal and Peter can exchange deep, meaningful looks of lurve while Neal and El can play footsie under the table. Gaby approves. *g*
I'm guessing El's in the kitchen getting a skillet to whack some sense into Sam with...
And, as I said above...THE FACE!!! *smishes*

Date: 2012-11-10 05:38 pm (UTC)And aww, yes, THE FACE! Neeeeal! You're so beautiful and hurt and have so many FEELINGS!
Haha yeah, Peter's possessive look is hot! I am hoping for some jealousy and some competition and biting sarcastic remarks between he and Sam :D
Ooh, sling! Neal will have to sit by Peter's hospital bed, right?!

Date: 2012-11-10 06:21 pm (UTC)Also, I saw that actor and I thought he was James Nesbitt (http://uk.imdb.com/name/nm0626362/) They, uh, kinda look *exactly* the same to me /o\

Date: 2012-11-10 10:42 pm (UTC)YES! That's why I was confused as to thinking I recognised him but not having seen any of his stuff! He does look exactly like James Nesbitt, and I also think he looks like John Hannah, so it all baffled my brain!

Date: 2012-11-14 05:13 pm (UTC)I know the writers have a tough job now that the whole "will Neal run when he gets a chance" issue is established once and for all, for what do you do when Peter and Neal are now firmly on the same side? Let's hope they find other ways to amp it up next season.
Maybe we should just turn it into p0rn. I could live with that. :D

Date: 2012-11-14 06:03 pm (UTC)Yeah it's tricky to maintain the tension now I guess, although I was perfectly happy in season 2 when they were actually working together lol! I hope the writers have something good in mind for season 5. Because I want a season 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 too!
(I'm also wondering where on earth Kramer's gone and if we're ever going to hear from him again lol!)
Maybe we should just turn it into p0rn. I could live with that. :D
THIS WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE TO ME :D
