It was all going so well when I last posted about GYWO back in April! \o/ \o/ \o/
And since then....

So let's just round up for the sake of completion, and then I can make a fresh start, yes? Very good.

OH BUT I CAN TOTALLY MAKE THAT UP, RIGHT?

I'll try anyway. Why not?

Things worked on: iZombie Liv/Blaine fic for [community profile] screenexchange  drabbles round; White Collar Peter/Neal fic for [community profile] slashorific ; White Collar Peter & Neal fic for [community profile] fandomgiftbox

I haven't actually got around to posting these on my journal yet, they are posted on my shiny new AO3 account (or the fandomgiftbox comments). So, a question. Those of you with AO3 accounts, do you also post the fic fully on your journal, or do you just link to it? Opinions please and thank you!

Yes, you can still do it! It's only 306 words a day! Even if you don't make it you can get close, so don't quit! *cheers you on*

Even if you just manage 100 words a day, that's still progress. You never know what you can do unless you try.

Come on over to the drabble communities or something. Or maybe try one of the prompts at [community profile] torchwood_fest. Prompt list should be going up on the 6th

You'd be welcome at my fic and drabble communities too, [community profile] drabble_zone and [community profile] ficlet_zone. They're very low pressure, the first has weekly prompts for 100 or 200 word drabbles, the second has monthly prompts for any length of fic, and no deadlines so all prompts remain open to be dipped into whenever you please.

My writing's going fine, I'm on schedule to to reach 500k again this year, but I'm pushing myself hard with a minimum 1100 words per day because I want to try to beat last year's total. I'm a glutton for punishment, lol!

I'm terrible about commenting, to be honest, but I'm more likely to comment on LJ or DW. It's too easy to hit the kudos button on AO3. (That said, as someone who mostly posts just to AO3, I love to receive comments, but I'm just as happy with kudos.)

I'm even more behind than you, I think...
I stopped doing the daily wordcount sometime around April (found it too stressful) and settled for tracking monthly progress. I also stopped tracking the wordcount on one of my "epics" - it was making me nervous to see words "disappear" whenever I edited it. So I'm just writing and I'll add the total wordcount when I finish it (that's the idea anyway...)

I love the GYWO challenges, essays and the word wars, but the actual tracking words - no sir, not for me.

I used to post on both but it's much easier to just make an announcement on LJ/DW. Especially for long damn stories. Plus it keeps all the comments in one place. Except for the people who actually back out of the story and comment on the announcement in a community, which always makes me go o_O why would you take that extra step instead of just commenting on ao3???
