Top 5 vehicles/methods of transportation.

1. Doctor Who: The Tardis. Obviously. It can go back and forth in time, travel through space, it's bigger on the inside, and sometimes it has David Tennant inside it.

2. That 70s Show: The Vista Cruiser. It's so iconic of the show and of the time. It represents adulthood, (a limited degree of) freedom for Eric, (a limited degree of) trust from his father, and a place for romance. So much happened throughout the show both inside the Vista Cruiser and on its bonnet, including Eric and Donna's first kiss and final conversation. And of course, the entire credit sequence is set inside it!

3. White Collar: Peter's Ford Taurus. This has been quite the successful product placement for the show, and we often get to see how great the new Ford Taurus is at 'doing the driving for you'. But more than that, I see it as a safe place for Peter and Neal to talk during driving or stake-outs, to get to know each other when they don't have to look at each other. In celebration of this, let us watch this excellent Youtube video made by ant3ka to 'I Woke Up In A Car' (spoilers for season 1):

4. Supernatural: The Impala. How can you not love Dean's car? It's almost as much a part of the show as the boys are, and it's infinitely more reliable. In a life of motel rooms and general displacement, the Impala is home.

5. Grey's Anatomy: The hospital elevators. They're not vehicles, admittedly, but they are definitely methods of transportation. And everything has happened inside them, from kissing to crying to sniffing-of-hair to marriage proposals to open heart surgery.

Runner up: Torchwood: The invisible elevator. Because sometimes it's nice to use the tourist entrance.

Firstly, sorry it's been a while since I did one of these! On the plus side, today's recommended Youtube video has the potential to introduce you to a truly fantastic show. I only heard of Harper's Island for the first time this year, but it was a show that ran in 2009 on CBS, for one season of 13 episodes (not because it got cancelled - it was only ever intended to last that long). The tag line was '13 WEEKS. 25 SUSPECTS. 1 KILLER', and it is essentially a horror movie taking place across 13 hours rather than the usual one and a half hours of a film. But it's SO MUCH better than a horror movie (and also has less gore, so if you're not a fan of blood, you can probably get away with just closing your eyes occasionally). Because it has 13 episodes to work with, you not only get a complex plot, but also lovable and interesting characters, developing romances and relationships, and a whole host of twists and turns that you couldn't fit into an average horror movie.

The series begins with Abby Mills returning to Harper's Island for the wedding of her childhood friend Henry. She originally left when her mother was murdered by mass killer John Wakefield, and soon similar murders begin to occur (with at least one death per episode), putting the wedding party, not surprisingly, on edge.

This show had me laughing, crying, screaming, shouting at the screen, and of course, shipping. It contains one of the cutest couples ever - Cal and Chloe - and some cracking performances by both well-known actors (Christopher Gorham is excellent, and Supernatural's Jim Beaver is outstanding). It kept me guessing right up until the end, and I would highly recommend you check it out.

The Youtube video I've chosen to introduce you to this show is a fan-made theatrical trailer. It doesn't include anything I would class as a spoiler and I think it's safe to watch before seeing the show. There are other trailers around, including an official CBS trailer which can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNoQM8jH75o but it does show quick glimpses of the first 4 deaths, and as such I haven't chosen that one to post here.

Warning: Contains some blood, and an image of a dead animal. Made by StygianFilms, who has given me permission to post.

Ugh, I feel horrid. I have something that doesn't seem to be able to make up its mind if it's a cold or the flu. Either way, it's unpleasant. And it has been hampering me from updating my LJ. So today and tomorrow (providing I haven't gotten even worse by then) you get a double dose of shipping to compensate.

Question List

Day 20: The can't-stand-the-sexual-tension pairing.
Jack/Gwen (TORCHWOOD)

Ok, so I’ve already used them once, but I couldn't resist putting them down for this question. And I do love them, so I figured they deserved one repeat. Besides, every time I think of sexual tension, it’s Jack and Gwen’s gun training scene from Ghost Machine, and the pinning-Gwen-against-the-wall scene from Meat that spring to mind. Unbelievably hot.

Day 21: A pairing you like and noone understands why.
Dean/Jo (SUPERNATURAL)

I liked this pairing almost instantly, and I have no idea why it wasn’t developed, or why Jo was in so few episodes. The rest of the fandom seems to hate her, and to hate the idea of Dean and Jo together even more, but I would have loved to see more scenes between them. I think they had great chemistry and could really have understood each other. My heart just went out to Jo whenever Dean failed to recognise what they might have been.

(On a side note, a silver lining to feeling ill is that I get to use the 'sore' mood and have a pic of Owen tending to Gwen's gunshot wound. How cute was that scene?)

Halfway through! Feels like it's been going forever!

Question List

Day 15: What is your favourite real life pairing?
Jensen/Jared (SUPERNATURAL)

I’m pretty new to the Supernatural fandom, having just got into the series over the last couple of months, but Jared and Jensen are both so gorgeous, and look like such great friends, that I can’t resist this pairing. Youtube videos of the two of them at conventions together have made me fall in love. (Oh and I mean this in a friendshippy way, not in a 'Wincest' way!)
